Love's Embargo

Love's Embargo

A Poem by Christian Adriaensen

So you ever tried?
We must've failed.

Once so close and tight.
Later both derailed.
A heart strain
Can't feel the moving
Locked in a chain
for the next disapproving.
Embedded in broken flowers
drenched in nectar tears.
Counting the lost hours
whilst hiding for my fears.
But sorrow found me
some time ago,
in the port of my heart
prisoned
my love's embargo.
