Angel of Salvation

Angel of Salvation

A Poem by Christian Adriaensen

Society...

can I have a word with you?

Cause you're messing up my mind.
Just like a skullcrushing cyclone,
one of a devastating kind.

I'm fed up with your indulgence and
seductive delusions you once gave birth.
I'm tired to be a slave of my irresistable illusions
and had enough of all the crawling
through your empire of dirt.

Surrounded by your believers, I feel so alone.
My once so generous heart slowly changed
into an amorphous piece of stone.

I'm watching your world from the dark side of the moon.
Dying, bleeding and screaming for the lost 'Angel of salvation'.
My inner fire extinguishing in your dark house of doom
and only her heavenly love can bring me to the garden of liberation.

I'll protect her from your Godsend watchmen of evil,
and even use my weakened body as a shield.
Change my unbrave soul into a fearless daredevil
just to get her immortal wounds forever healed.

Your poison already reached the core of my believe.
But I won't let your merciless venom find it's way,
to the blessed pureness of her unstained beauty.
She'll be saved and in the end our eternal love will prevail!

The third stanza is what really drew me into this piece fully and I must admit I wasn't expecting such written devotion in the end. This truly captivated me and after reading it over once more, I fell in love with it. A fantastic write and a wonderful read!
