You

You

A Poem by Christian Adriaensen

"You are as soft as a blanket of Indian silk,
you are the Queen of hearts in my deck of cards.
You are as sweet as the honey in my milk,
by far the number one of my rigorous charts."

"You are the lighthouse in my open sea,
my guiding curtain of shining light.
You are the path to my inevitable destiny,
my battered heart's untouched backside."

"You are the concealed emotion
in the glow of the rising sun. Like a
blissful sin, an invitating distortion,
an hypnotic lovesong unsung."

"You are the blossom of my imagination,
the fragrance of a flower that mystifies.
You are the inevitable shot of sensation,
the brightning colours in my stormy skies."

When I walk beside you
I just feel the better man.
And when you're not near me
I feel like a shepherd without his land.

Despite being said so much for poetry, I loved the imagery in this! And the last stanza tied it all together beautifully. :) This is a lovely poem, very enjoyable to read.
