A Poem by Christina Braceros

what was thought deep

was few and far between

watch silently

without a cry

keep the rhythm

from the beatings in life

the constant screaming and insulting

fill the viod

overflowing

it comes so often

begin to lose feeling

 absorb like a sponge

a punching bag for one

now see life through

dark eyes

please understand why

I write

it all came back

the tempting thoughts

fills again

just like back then

lost love and trust

no more fire or spirit

I've been extinguished

that happens to the best of us - our flames of passion flicker, reaching a point of near death, until they die out. that is a risk that some lovers are willing to take
i was reminded of 'across the universe' when i was reading this. through all the wars and doubts of everyone around them rose a pair of viscious, innocent lovers, free from the ashes of hell.
