Cinderella

Cinderella

A Poem by Christina Braceros

cooking, cleaning, and putting up with you

is all I do

and still I get mistreated by you.

i press your shirts

and crease your pants

a thank you is all I ask

I stand there and take your verbal abuse

more than I need to

I'm just not good enough for you

your house is clean

and your dinner made

I never once get paid

I'm just another Cinderella

but no god mother

so I'm stuck like this forever

I stand like a soldier

I acknowledge my superior

Damn Father

I stand like a maid

with eyes tearing with hate

what a day

I'm just another Cinderella

for Mother and Father

no prince for her

what a bother

on my hands and knees

scrubbing

in the kitchen

cooking

but I'm stuck

no way out

welcome to my fairy tale

my nightmare

no happy ending

just another day

aint it s****y to live this way

I'm just another Cinderella

working her life away like a maid

beautiful poem, its like Cinderella's a mere slave, or someone stuck in an abusive relationship, very nice poem!

I love your expression here! Very unappreciated and overworked, and underpaid. But the good news about Cinderella, is that she does get out of that(I think). I'm not great with the disney, but I don't know if Cinderella has the glass slipper or Snow White......

But either way, assuming I'm right, you'll have a happy ending!
