Through My Veins

Through My Veins

A Poem by Christina Braceros

My life a prosaic cycle,

at times full of rancorous feeling

so profound

that I'm oblivious to the reason.

But then my behavior becomes

stoic in a matter of seconds.

Cool, paitient, and calm

With a chance of becoming transitory,

making me timid,

but penitent feelings course

through my veins

mingling with my blood

full of regret and shame
