slick getaway

slick getaway

A Poem by Christina Braceros

let the rain fall
and mask my tears
let the wind caress my skin
and the ocean beckon
watch the water reflect my loss
i hear the crash of broken dreams
that were carried away
within the grasping nails
they claw towards me
oh so hungrily
but i refuse
the tempting offer
of a slick getaway
