a lover's dread

a lover's dread

A Poem by Christina Braceros

i lick my lips

oh irony

so dark and dreary

luring me away

a sweet reminder lingers

you haunt my dreams

with your dark eyes

the paradox of right and wrong

i bite my lip

ruby red

quick taste

a lover's dread

hit and run

i merely exist

among

the real and the fake

now steal away

what i had to take

with no evidence

but a smile

playing on thy lips

of who used to exsist
