Lack of words

A Poem by Chrissy McManis

A poem I wrote, discussing the pain from my past from one particular person..

After all these years,

I still can't whisper out the words i'd love to say.

Wishing and hoping that I could change this past.

Wishing that these nightmares would disappear.

I wish I could show you all the pain you've put me through.

After all these years,

I still can't seem to let go of the pain.

The pain that lives with me everyday.

The pain that holds me back from reality.

Living seems like a dream with the past of you haunting me.

After all these years... I wish I could tell you.

I wish I could let out these words..

After all these years,

I'll remember what you've done,

An even if I can't let go,

I'll whisper to myself how much I truly hate you.

I like this work ! Even tho the theme of it is what happens to about all of us, in the course of our life... you have found a fresh method of expressing it. It comes across as being very real to you, and it brings the reader into your feelings very effectively. Please continue to get back into your wriing as you are apparently very good, and their are people out here that await your work.
