Tragedies Of An Unsung Hero

Tragedies Of An Unsung Hero

A Poem by Chris Cariad

The wars we fight

Are not our own.

The lives lost

In useless war

Could never be regained.

As we fight not for freedom, but for power.

The lives lost out weight any gain that could be

From such actions,

As another soldier loses their home.

The time spent on these deadly makings

Could be time used and lives saved from deadly happenings.

The money spent on weapons

Could be spent on finding life's cures.

We could end hunger

Instead of ending life's source.

Today we look at death,

But tomorrow we can look at hope.

A hope,

That the world will rise

Singing this song of life.

Ending the suffering that we have pursued for too many years.

Bringing us to a land flowing and vibrant,

Safe from the destruction

Of a war never sown.
