Crazy TownA Poem by Chris AtkinsonCrazy Town The insanity that’s you It’s growing all the time Growing deeper every day Deeper in your mind Like a bulimic with a fear of vomit It’s growing bigger all the time They say that ignorance is bliss Until you lose your mind If your head was buried deeper Any deeper in the sand The tide would wash you far away Into a distant land I’m not sure that you’d notice Your minds already there I would swim for days to rescue you If I thought you’d even care So now you’re there in crazy town I bet they made you mayor A soldier of insanity You’ve got that 12-yard stare You know the one you only get When you’ve been to war The scars in your mind are plain to see You’ve defiantly been before So if crazy town is the place for you I’m glad you’ve found your home A wonderland it will never be But at least you’re not alone The Hatter may have departed He said you drove him mad He’s gone for tea at six with Alice You made him feel that sad Quickly down the rabbit hole To the place he calls his home The Queen of hearts doesn’t seem so bad Now he’s been with the two of you alone He went to see the March Hare To try and get some sense He said a day with both of you Had sent him round the bend A split personality now reinstated Your heart and mind have both vacated Crazy down is conscience free So lonely you will never be Both your sides conjoined as one So at least you won’t be on your own I wish your-self and you the best In crazy town there’s no regrets.
