Dawn in Shadow

Dawn in Shadow

A Poem by Christopher Angel
"

Eternity is wasted on the emotional. Those that can handle it, live true and live forever. It is our right for we are not part of the world but above it.

"
To live forever is not a curse
To walk this world young and strong
Drinking blood to slake your thirst
For such a gift, is this so wrong?

For a millennia I have lived
A thousand times over the world I have seen
Many wonders you will not believe
In the darkest places I have been

The sun's rays sometimes I miss
But there is more to be thankful for
In the shadows I have found bliss
To be reveled in forevermore

As you fight your petty wars
And feed mankind's growing rift
I continue my journey, this world to explore
Ah, to live forever is such a gift!

Interesting, the character in the poem describes is experience of how it has to destroy other people to stay alive and it has some thing where it tries to justify itself and convince other to support him. Very good, congratulations will read the other creative poems.

I loved your writing! To view living forever as a gift is so true. I'm so tired of hearing people say I don't want to see this work x amount of years from now. There is so much to see, do, and experience!

It is a gift and I'm glad you see it as such too :)
When I browsed through your list of writings I chose this one to read first because I knew it was going to be about vampires and I'm glad I was right! Your poem structure was really good and when I read it in my head it sounded like a song. The way you put yourself in a sort of mythical creatures POV was really well done and I'm glad you chose to go backwards and write how vampires were back then and not as how they are romanticized now. Almost in every book a vampire resents their immortality...but I say why? Thank you for providing something so fresh!

To me this is what I would consider a practice thinking to being a Vampire. In many things, poems, books, tales, there is always this whole 'what a mistake emotion', but this was honest to the ones whom look past the effects.
