Kissing the nightA Poem by Christopher AngelTrue vampires do not sparkle or stalk children. True immortals have no need to mind the short-lived prey. We are the strong, the beautiful and this world belongs to us.There is a chill in the air In this city where rivers run red The mortals live without a care Unaware of those who are undead The world is old but so am I Centuries of cold nights have I seen In this world where all Men must die I am the thing in the night, a gentleman fiend My thirst is slaked on the blood of Men Like cattle they come to the slaughter Religion would curse me and call me damned Yet in the dark I am full of luster Do you not kill to survive? How then am I so different? We do what we must to stay alive Who are you to pass judgement? I love you still, my fragile friend I would watch you close like a lover Although on your blood is what I depend Your sacrifice makes me...forever
