Justice

Justice

A Poem by Chris W.
"

No Description

"

Collective delusions come at a cost

To parents of children whose lives have been lost

And labored dichotomies come at a price

To children of parents with clumsy advice

I’m having some trouble coming to grips

With why we always try solving our conlficts with whips

And I’m having some issues coming to terms

With how we all seem so eager to nourish the worms

So riddle me this now, who is to blame?

When towers of innocents burst into flame?

And explain if you would, please. who is at fault?

When their leaders lash back with a ruthless assault?

I guess our intentions will never be clear

For attempts to explore them are met with a sneer

And I guess peace on earth will never be known

For attempts to endorse it are met with a stone

Bold comment on aspects of our own nature, and how it manifests in more modern times such as 9/11. There's a darkness, a pessimistic conclusion that curves back to the base elements of our nature. This is good work. There may be some changes to make that might improve the flow, particularly lines 6 and 8. A very good piece. Liked it.
