The KnotA Poem by Chris W.No DescriptionIn your head there is a knot A tangled mess of words and thoughts And in its center woven taught Your hopes and dreams will slowly rot Its tendrils sprout from every side To swallow things it cant abide And in short time whats left inside Will only be what it's contrived Within us all it is alive Feeding on the common lies The ones that we've immortalized Through blood and sweat and homicide The knot in fact is very old It's been with us down every road Yet every year it grows more bold Desperate to maintain its hold It knows its end is very near Closer, closer every year And when the day is finally here The world will laugh and sing and cheer Our cheer will quickly turn to hate Once we've learned it's far too late Whats left of us will dissonate While mother nature cleans the slate
