Reality comes alongA Poem by Christopher Paul
She closes her eyes
And drifts away Far from the lies, hurt and pain To a place she can be alone To a place she can be her own In her world so warm and bright She can laugh instead of cry She can be what she wants to be She can be free cause no one can see But fantasies never last very long For at some point reality comes along Drags her out from her dream Reminding her of the place, the person She never wants to be Her smile disappears as her eyes open To the yelling, the screaming, the family broken The pain comes back so do the tears The marks on her face and scars on her wrist reappear Even though the pain and marks she can hide Her reality she can never put aside.
