What I Can Be

What I Can Be

A Poem by The Mad Hatter
"

When you love someone, you'll try and be everything they want you to be.

"

I’ll be your protector
from the bad things in the world.
I can be your shield
when stones are being hurled.

I’ll stand by your side
and hold you close and dear.
When you’re in my arms,
there’s nothing you should fear.

I can be your life preserve
when you’re drowning in your tears.
I can be your nightlight
and chase away your fears.

I can be your armor
and keep you safe from harm.
I can be your lover;
leaving kisses on your arm.

I can be your journal;
in me you can confide.
I can be your camouflage;
behind me you can hide.

I can be your guardian;
your angel from above.
I can be your keeper
if you can be my dove.
