Glass

Glass

A Poem by The Mad Hatter
"

We often think of fire as having a lot to do with the darker side of life (Demons, Hell, etc..) but fire has it's own way of getting rid of impurities.

"

I can sense the shadow calling me;
the darkness pulls me in.
I begin to leave this world
while drowning in my sins.

I feel myself just drifting off
as I reach for your hand.
My dreams return to ashes;
my body turns to sand.

I awake within this Hell,
surrounded by the flame.
The torment of this nightmare
is driving me insane.

I feel the fire wrap my body;
I lay and wait for it to pass.
When it’s done, my sins are gone;
and what once was sand is glass.
