LeftoversA Poem by Erik Crowder
I gave you my soul,
I gave you my love, But I wasn't good enough. Heartless b***h. You spat back at me Spiteful and cruel. Crushing me into dust, Sealing my fate. Because of you, I am scared to rise, Scared to fly free. I am chained unto these rocks Bound by doubt, Weighed down by fear, Turned away by hope. I remember the good times, Before you tore out my soul, And fed it to your dogs of hate. Before me became he, And we became were. I remember, Though I do not survive. © 2014 Erik Crowder |
