I Pledge

I Pledge

A Poem by Chops

If you have enough
Or plenty
Open your heart
Pack away your fear.

Let your eyes reflect the stars
White against the deep dark
And the thirteen ribbons
Red interloped with white.

What reasons bring hand to heart?
And what assumptions predicate your pledge?

In a brisk wind, a rainbow
The colors bleed hues
When still
What colors do you see?
