Purely romantic poem, with a playful backward twist

Time, You, Think, I

What do I mean

When I say “all the time”?

 

I mean it’s so frequent,

That it seems to be always.

That it’s like a parallel piece of my consciousness.

I mean countless times a day.

Every. Single. Day.

 

And what do I mean

When I say “you”?

 

I mean your smile, the little sounds you make, your skin.

I mean your presence, carriage, being.

And I mean the you that is part of “us.”

 

And what do I mean

When I say “think about”?

 

I mean it creeps into my brain.

I picture you.

I hear your voice, what you would say, how you would “see it a little differently.”

I imagine scenes of us together

(Some pretty steamy).

I mean that it leaves a hollow craving in my chest.

 

And what do I mean

When I say ”I”?

 

I mean my heart, my soul, my being.
