Well put. Sad that the rest of the world rarely understands the way we feel and channel... some might say, the way we "cope." I like the way "we" take the mediums provided and create something of beauty that moves from setting to setting and reaches out to everyone to evoke some emotion. Well written as always, my friend... as always.
when i feel deep i can read this, all is just an outlet you know
but its fine for us to let it go we can write but some have to hold it in or there will be another grocery store robbing
but seriously yin yang man, its your choice if you want to put it inwardly or outwardly i preferably hold it in and let it go in writing making everyone sorry that way
but hey i'm a pacifist
anyway good solid poem for a great simply profound everyday idea
Must be a "muse" kind of week. As I was telling someone yesterday, my muses went AWOL for about ten years; I didn't work on anything, quit writing, thought I'd become a master gardener instead. But the muses came back and I chained 'em to a wall and make 'em work for me.
Nice bit of prose here! If your muse is like mine, it's a fickle mischevious little creature, inspiring me when I'm busy as hell, and leaving me when I'm in the mood and have time to write! It can outrun me, and hides in mysterious places!!
You have perfectly summed up the devil inside every writer's head, Terry.
(Sorry, I mean every 'good' writer's head... some people claiming to be writers are just internet pests - no names mentioned, Carlos.)
Spike Milligan was one of England's most famous writers/performers in the 50s-70s, and he was plagued by demons. Our muses can drive us to distraction, drive us half insane... but it's all worthwhile if they eventually create a great spark.
We suffer for their art, or they enjoy making us suffer for our art.
I started writing as a way to work out my feelings and found that I enjoyed it very much. I enjoy humor and feel that you can find it in most things, even though it may be hard to find at the moment. .. more..
