Pain and Muses

Pain and Muses

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

Pain and Muses

Written by: T. L. O’Neal

Emotion is emotion

Good or bad

Feeds the soul

The fires

That burn deep inside

Fuels my passions

The passions to create

Love or hate

It doesn’t really matter

Just release the muse

Set the spirit free

Release the madness

That’s inside my head

Let it go

What’s the outcome

I don’t know

Don’t really care

Just let it flow

Like a river

A river of love or hate

Sadness or glee

Creative spirit

Work for me

Don’t forsake

Let my madness

Be a blessing

Not a curse

Love hurts too

Much as depression

Rage

Hatred

Get angry at the world

And angry with the words

They’re all the same

The only difference

The outcome

Emotions

Feed the flames

In the end

It’s all

There’s nothing left

But

Pain and muses

Well put. Sad that the rest of the world rarely understands the way we feel and channel... some might say, the way we "cope." I like the way "we" take the mediums provided and create something of beauty that moves from setting to setting and reaches out to everyone to evoke some emotion. Well written as always, my friend... as always.

*nods* Awesome work and inspiring. Follows the advice you gave me about making use of those thoughts and emotions rather than bottling them up. Really liked your word choice in this as well. Produced a lot of good imagery.

This is a great piece. I love the way you put so many of my own feelings into words. You let the reader know that is the existing that matter not the in between. I look forward to reading more of your work. ~Bee

Terry, as you now know, I too have bouts of depression messing with me from time to time so I definitely relate to this piece in a big way. Sorry it took me so long to review this.

You've done a splendid job here.

Very inventive. I like this poem! It was well written to a subject that isn't always easy to explain.
