Soul Seeker

Soul Seeker

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

I am the soul seeker

Searching the world for lost souls

Souls that are unwanted

For their life has taken its toll

Countless ones that are alone

And those that are thrown away

Those no one cared about

And those that didn’t want to stay

Those that who forgot

Who they were and why

Those with no purpose

And those that wanted to die

Those that died in fruitless wars

And those that starved from hunger

Those whose lives were tore apart

And those whose lives were meager

I am the soul seeker

Searching the world for lost souls

So many lost people

So many numbers untold

Those that died way too young

And those who couldn’t deal with life

Those whose hearts were broken

Or the ones that were looked on as lowlifes

Will anyone remember them

Does anyone really even care

Those that are here

Or those that died unfair

I’m looking for them

To give them all a home

For they will never have to wander

And there’ll be no reason to roam

I am the soul seeker

Searching the world for the lost soul

I will find them all

And their pain I will console

This is a switch from the usual cry for a lost love that
we see everywhere. You use a rather hypothetical
theme, seems like testing the air to if people who
understand the soul are there. I feel you grieving for
the lost and disadvantaged of the world.
You are deep in to your own thoughts and the soul
seeker is just your way of saying there is salvation.
I am not sure about the picture, but the style, the imagery
and the wording are excellent. Very, very professional.

t.l, this really wowwed me is my first impression, the meaning
reflects an astonishing depth of thought that seemed to show
in my opinion what God would think, saving lost souls for
the mission of goodness, what is really is impressive is how
each sentence portrays a pinnicle character trait,
a motivation of behavior in spirited form and fashion,
this is a masterfully scribed work of insightful illustration.
takes the reader to the moment of happening, capturing, take care, mike

Your pain bleeds through in every line. It is such a wondeful wish to be that person. It reminds me of Holden Caulfield in Catcher in the Rye. Empathy is one of the greatest poetic gifts. You have that empathy. It helps you see clear. Good work.

This one reads nearly like a prayer, and a sad one, calling in the lost souls. I wonder religiously if there are angels whose job is to protect the lost-souled ones. Hmm. I like the tone of this one.

Favorite stanza was this one

Those that died in fruitless wars
And those that starved from hunger
Those whose lives were tore apart
And those whose lives were meager

I especially like the fruitless right before hunger.

Those that who forgot =? Those that had forgot

I liked this one, I think this was on your myspace. I kind of view this as a song! I don't know why but something heavy metal. I loved the flow and as usual you always have great timing.

Title caught my eye. Not disappointed. This is very good piece. Imagery and rhythm excellent.

I really like this verse:
Countless ones that are alone
And those that are thrown away
Those no one cared about
And those that didnt want to stay

Favorite verse:
I am the soul seeker
Searching the world for the lost soul
I will find them all
And their pain I will console

You need to delete either "that" or "who" in first line of verse below:
Those that who forgot
Who they were and why
Those with no purpose
And those that wanted to die
