You Healed my Heart

You Healed my Heart

A Poem by T. L. O'Neal

You Healed My Heart

Written by: T. L. O’Neal

You came along at the right time

When my heart was broken in two

You took your love and compassion

And the pain in my heart you withdrew

You did this for no other reason

Than to mend a broken heart

But after that my love for you

Nothing could tear us apart

I don’t know if I was worthy

To accept your loving ways

You were always good to me

And for this I have only praise

You make me so happy

This is very plain to see

You loved unconditionally

And loved me for me

You gave passion back to me

And made me feel like a man

With your loving gentle touch

From your silky smooth hand

Like a gentle cool breeze

Turning my embers to fire

You returned my passion

And restored my desire

Now it has been almost ten months

And everyday seems new

I want to repay you with my love

Because you took away the blue

A really beautiful poem, T. I love the strength and conviction of all you say. "Nothing could tear us apart", "unconditional love", "made me feel like a man", it's a relationship at its best. "I don't know if I was worthy - To accept your loving ways - You were always good to me - And for this I have only praise". It's just so sweet it makes me want to cry! Sounds like you guys are lucky to have found each other. Beautiful poetry on both pages for your birthday. There is no better gift in the world than true love from someone's heart!

Such a beautiful poem. The flow is like water, and the words are so wonderful. You are so lucky to have found someone to make you feel this way. A beautiful piece of writing. One little word of advice if I may, I would just take the n off broken in this line, and leave it as broke, simply because it would make the flow evem smoother. "When my heart was broken in two" XX

My only critisism is that the meter is off a little, here and there. But with that being said . . . This is one wonderful poem. Your heart pours out the Love that you feel in such a sympatheticly caring manner. You can see the impact that this person had on you (and I am certain I know who it is - and how much she really loves you). Great work, my friend.

very lyrical sounding poem, and has good perfect rhyme and slant rhyme, like the physical descriptions of what love does and how such an abstract emotion is shown.

what a beautiful romantic poem. Its great to see this side of your writing as it is different from your conversational humorous story telling. this is awesome in its own right, very lyrical - warm,
Like a gentle cool breeze

Turning my embers to fire

You returned my passion

And restored my desire

and I really like that stanza/verse right there. Well done.
I also find the idea of 'healing a heart' resonating.

TL...that is beauiful, and rhyming yet! you are full of surprises. A lovely testament to your love for her...she would be well pleased. The stanzas run evenly throughout and are coherent, it is well penned and you have obviously put a great deal of thought into it. I loved it...
