Loss

Loss

A Poem by ChocolateAddict

Your heart stutters and breaks
The sound of weeping makes
You crazy and mad.
You hear nothing but tears
Smell nothing but fear
That tastes desperate and sad.

How do you tell them to leave
So you can sit down and grieve
All alone with your doubt.
They don't feel what it's cost
Or understand that you've lost
What you can't live without.

The shocking loss makes you weak
Bitter words that you speak
Only tremble and fall.
Now the time quickly ticks by
Everyone wants to know why
You just stare at the wall.

This is intense and honest at such a deep level. Take raw feelings like this and articulate them with words of a poem and there is a basis for a powerful thought, a powerful poem. Add rhyme and meter like you have and then you have more.
