My prayer: A Moment of DoubtA Poem by Gionelly KissFaith is our rock; what happens when we are without it?Each tear upon the pages of your sermon Blurs the truth I am supposed to see How could you promise me your love When I cannot promise you my own I turn the page and see The cup of your rage Begin to boil at me At my exasperation And fear and doubt You reach out and Turn the page To were my name is written And each part of me described The story of my creation And again I begin to cry You point at where you breathed in me And molded me: I the slip and you my potter Your love and wisdom overcome me then Knowledge of you so pure and true How can I resist you I lay upon the pages of your Word And breathe the Truth in deep Cleansed of doubt and submissive now I close in sincere, secure: “Amen.” © 2010 Gionelly KissReviews
