What Guidance is to Me

What Guidance is to Me

A Poem by Gionelly Kiss
"

Our parents always want what's best for us, but is it really what we want?

"

Guidance is…

Not a lighthouse guiding me from the wreck

But the bumpy ride of life upon the island of hope;

Guidance is…

Not your loving gaze as you define success

But the foundation prepared for my failure;

Guidance is…

Not the guard rails you raise to guide me

But the thrill of tripping and getting up again;

Coloring around the lines

And laughing at your tears;

Writing on the walls

And screaming at my fears;

Drawing out my dreams

And whispering the truth;

Listening to your pride

And joy at my attempts;

That to me is

Guidance, enough.

Very agreeable. Guidance is definitely not controlling, it's more like the presence. I love the thought presented here. Your definition of guidance is almost synonymous to freedom. It's just so true.

Keep Writing. ^___^
