The Thanks of Sons and Daughters

The Thanks of Sons and Daughters

A Poem by Gionelly Kiss
"

Villanelle: Type of poem with certain rhyme scheme and number of stanzas.

"

The laughter of a child,

Active bundles of joyful playing

The deed to a mother entitled

Bubbly eyes"deep pools of sapphires"admiring.

Miniscule limbs"waving flags"simplifying

The laughter of a child

Immediate hastiness to capture their growing;

Amazing adventures accomplished in their learning

The deed to a mother entitled

Now, “Adults” pertaining only to themselves:

Carelessly cutting her Heart producing themselves

The laughter of a child,

The deed to a mother entitled…

Waoow! Difficult but succeeded exercise! One ventures rarely a villanelle these days. As I am reading the poem a second time, the idea came across that behind this form, lies a person who carefully if not only rarely unleashes inner emotions. Maybe.
