George.

George.

A Poem by Chloe Madison Taylor.
"

"lets get wrecked on poptarts and sex."

"

Remember waking up to your dog licking our faces?

wasting gas to drive to unknown places

wasting the day getting wrecked on music and sex?

making fun of that s**t, your ex?

playing xbox and halflife for the win,

waiting for night so the trouble could begin?

late night fone calls to seal the deal

you were the one that kept things real

remember texting til our fingers would bleed?

going to concerts like Slipknot and Creed

making our song about sailors and socks

figuring out whose instrument really rocks

going to st. louis for a paintball tournament

filing against my dad for sexual harassment

training your dog to turn off the playstation

walking to Devil's Hole without fear or hesitation

Remember the days we spent down at the river

giving me your hoodie so i wouldnt shiver

Remember the days when you used to call?

swearing youd catch me, should i fall?

Remember the time you scratched our name into a tree?

swearing, promising,

youd always love me.

Author's Note

Chloe Madison Taylor.
Devil's Hole is a place where people used to sacrifice animals for fucked up reasons. I swear, its haunted. and Halflife really is the best xbox game ever.
and this is about a lost love, what else.
oh, teen angst.

yes, I remember, only you were named Christine then and you collected hearts. You still have mine.

Angsty... I like the specific details. Concrete details make poetry stand out, no matter what its subject matter.
