Crushed - Found poem.

Crushed - Found poem.

A Poem by Chloe Madison Taylor.
"

Words found in The Most Dangerous Game. For english class.

"

His stone heart was real enough

yet hung on a rotten unreality

his handsome face held a stiff smile

the menacing look in his eyes

suggested at his want

my lips gave forth no sound

he held out his strong hand

but i will not be crushed.

im well enough alone.

Hm... I did this the last week of school. I didn't finish mine (I knew my teacher wouldn't grade it)...

Although a bit short (I have a limited idea of "short"), it doesn't interfer with the message in it.

From what I read, I see you're just not saying no to him, but cutting a tie. You're independent from him now.

My favorite lines were "His stone heart was real enough" and "my lips gave forth no sound"

The mix of simple images with lines such as "stone heart" and "rotten unreality" make this a very powerful poem. Seriously.
I've seen other found poems, many very solid. Yours is different considering is both solid amnd the oppoiste. That's a compliment.

Oh, and I was just listening to a song by my beloved Cranberries, "Put Me Down" from Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? I think maybe it can relate...
