House Of Cards

House Of Cards

A Poem by Chloe Madison Taylor.

Drifting dangerously in my House Of Cards

wondering where i fit in this place

these kings and queens give me their stares

apparently im a disgrace.

Their solid, handsome faces

swords kept at their sides

look, but dont touch

this house could crumble to its demise

Below these queens and kings

so high up in their thrones

i seem to of found a joker

his laugh shivers my bones.

He keeps me company and sane

keeps me center to which this house was made

and though the kings beckon me

id rather be with joker than any diamond or spade

We no longer limit ourselve to this house

We're stuck here, but its clear

when their world comes crashing down,

we'll be the ones who are still here.

I like this one too. Speaks to me of hypocrisy in a way. I often feel like the joker myself. Good write. :) I have one burning in the back of my mind that I should write one day. It will be called "A Variety of Fools in a House of Cards". If I ever get it written and on here I hope you'll read it. Kudos to you.
