Fear of LoveA Poem by Chloe GarberFear is the heart of
love Sometimes it is
violent, but The gentle creatures growing never last How can love and fear
be twisted in one that you can’t tell them apart This is your last
glance that will soon be a faded memory You fear of letting
go, fear of loving and saying goodbye Your skin screams to
stay while your lungs fill and deflate with their poisonous words Your love, the fire
you always dreamed Would warm your
winter night You cry sometimes
about it About the new life
growing in your stomach The stars are burning
out, but your love stays forever Your love, a magical
potion Purifying the wounds
in my heart © 2015 Chloe Garber |
