"You"

"You"

A Poem by Chloe Bloom

You look around the room,
People will tell you everyone here is just like you
They are wrong.
No one will ever be just like you or know what you're going through
No one will ever feel your pain
They aren't living through you 'till your grave
You are different.
You should not be told otherwise, for the people who know this are very wise
You may feel alone at times, but you are independent, you are strong
You don't need people in your way telling you, you are wrong
When you look around the room
Know that nobody is like you, embrace your differences, because no matter what
You are strong.

Great view point, and principle for life. Those who know this, will project the qualities of tact, self control' peacefulness, patience'kindness, goodness, and a humble self assurance. Your one that knows this

Interesting poem. In the middle, maybe accidentally, it sounded as if a rhyme scheme started with "otherwise" and "wise" linking up, but then it flowed into free verse again, only to jump right back into rhyming with "strong" and "wrong".....I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that, it just confuses the ear, when one tries to get ready for either a rhyming or a free verse poem.....it is quite hard to write a "hybrid" successfully....

Looking forward to read some of your other work :)

I find this uplifting in a way. You are you. Based off this writing I like you. I like your message and this was well written. Thanks for posting. I am glad I stopped by.

A poem for the ages! If I may suggest, you can have fun with more line breaks, as there are some thoughts that don't need to share the same line as others. But poet has last say. This is well structured, well weaved, well said! Well - freaking - done! Much enjoyed!
