Poem for a Friend

She fights a war everyday with the mirror

Battles her reality within a prison

She will never see that she is superior

That the angel within her has risen

The scars that mark her shield

Are not of weakness and sin

But a reminder that she has healed

And is releasing the fighter within

Her eyes are nothing less than gold

Her heart speaks words of a fighter

Her frame is immortal and bold

She will destroy any who try to hurt her
