Street Kid

Street Kid

A Poem by snapstache
"

i read a book about street kids and it was true accounts from kids that have been at the LAYN shelter...very sad how once saved many return to street life and die because no one cares.

"
When I cry,
No one hears,
When I scream,
I alert no ears,
No one cares,
For someone like me,
Someone so dirty,
So filled with greed,
Dressed in torn rags,
Wielding a gun,
Living alone,
On the run,
On streets,
I live my life,
Hopeless and helpless,
Running out of time.

I felt like writing for these people. Maybe it makes you sad what some kids go through everyday, maybe not. It will most. If you want to know more read Runaways by Jeffery Artenstein
