Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by snapstache

A lump in my throat,

As I try not to cry,

For you spoke the word,

That I dare not think,

Goodbye.

A ugly word,

That scars many hearts,

And makes me cry,

That plain ugly word,

Goodbye.

You spoke it loud and clear,

As you slowly back away,

Like I'm a tiger,

Hunting for prey,

As if I'll pounce very soon,

So you make your slow escape.

I don't trust my voice,

To speak,

As I crumple to the floor,

And start to bleed.

My heart, you hide,

Behind you back,

As you steal it away,

To never return it.

So as I cling to the floor,

A lump in my throat,

As I spoke the word,

That I dare not think,

The ugly,

Six letter word,

Goodbye.
