My Piece of You

My Piece of You

A Poem by snapstache

You held my hand,

As you walked me home,

We we're joking,

And laughing,
Just having a great time,
Oblivious to the world,

That runs about,

It didn't matter to me,

What world I was in,

As long as you were there with me,

Holding my hand,

I'd be content forever,

If it would stay like this,

If we never had to part,

But our roads have diverged,

We're going seperate ways,

You've got her,

And I've got him,

It'll never be the same again,

I'm over you,

Are you over me,

I took it hard,

Did you take it lightly,

I cried so many tears,

And it was added,

To my long list of fears,

What did you do,

With my piece of heart,

That I left for you,

I'll treasure mine always,

It's locked away in a case,

My little piece of you,

My reminder of,

How things used to be.

great poem, i totally agree with ebur's review, how the whole choppiness and oppisites thing made it really kinda flow better. and im a total sentimental person, so i can really relate.

I liked the choppiness of this, it made it easier to read, but also made the whole experience of reading this better. I liked the whole idea of the poem as well, you displayed the idea really good. Also, they way you said like 'i took it hard, did you take it lightly' and 'i'm over you, are you over me'. I liked the whole 'opposite' thing you had going there. Great job on this piece :)
