As I Cry

As I cry these tears,

You're running away from here,

Trying to get as far away from me as possible,

You broke my heart,

And took it with you,

Now I'm back to the start,

Square one doesn't look so far away now,

I see it on the horizon,

As I walk on blood-stained feet,

They've carried me so far now,

What's the point in chasing after you,

I'm already beat,

You made that clear,

When youstarted running,

And I'd call you a coward,

If only I'd chased after you,

Now I'm crying more tears,

And they mask my face,

Maybe soon you'll see,

I've given up on the chase,

I'm not followin your steps anymore,

Cause as I cry these tears,

You're running away from here,

Leaving me.

[The Perfectionist]

Sometimes I wonder if the reason you get so many reviews is less that you ask for them each time (which I feel is a little redundant, why else would you post them?) and more that you write short poems, and people are incredibly lazy.

What? Oh, poem, right.

It's a heartbreaking little tale about a very grey area of relationships that I've had more than one fight with my girlfriend about. Do you chase after the one you want, or do you let them go? If you do, at what point do you stop? A good (and moreover, complete) view on this universal situation.
