GriefA Poem by snapstacheanother poem for my dead grandmother...We gathered round the huge, black hole, As they laid you in, The tears ran down my cheeks, I see your pale face one more time, Before they shut the top and cover you with grime, I dug my face into my father's arm, As we walk away I think back, To the time we got stuck in quicksand, While we were looking for flint, I remember the time I let a mouse into the house, And how you screamed and cried, You even cursed, But we laughed about it afterwards, Now I realize how sweet the brownies tasted, How much you worried for me, I think about how excited you were, To know about my camp, Now it all seems so bittersweet, Now that there's no more you and me, So I climb into the car, Ans I continue to grieve. © 2009 snapstacheAuthor's Note
