When Death ComesA Poem by Chloe MarieInspired by a death in my familyWhen
Death
Comes When
Death
comes and darkens your sight, When
life fades away and you see the other side. Others
will cry, Others
will mourn, While
you are finally at peace, When
you are finally done. Out
of sight and in the ground, Out
of time to say farewell. When
Death
comes to take you away, Will
you leave or will you stay? Do
you know what you’ll see, The
light of heaven or the black of the void? When
Death
comes for you will you be ready? When
the end is here and Death is near will you run or will you stay? Will
you fight or will you give in? Will
you know what you’ll do? Life’s
greatest question is what to do When
Death
comes to take you too. Some
go quietly while some go screaming. Some
don’t believe there is anything after While
some believe there is. Were
you loved when you were here? Will
your loved ones find peace with you gone, Or
will they be dead for the rest of their life? And
when the time comes for them to join you, Will
you meet them with waiting arms? You
won’t know where and you don’t know when, You
even won’t know how or why. But
when Death
comes and darkens your sight, When
life fades away and you see the light, Will
you be ready or will you fight? © 2015 Chloe Marie |
