My World

This is one of my newest poems. I hope you enjoy.

Behind my eyes there is a world

A world inside my brain

One full of laughter and fun

Love and happiness

But when the dark clouds show

Way up in the sky

That is when the laughter and happiness flee

Only to be replaced by shrieks of sadness

Lightning crashes and my world cried

My world cried for peace

Cries for safety

My world is scared

Only able to hide within itself

Thunder rumbles and my eyes leak

My world forces itself through my eyes

Although my eyes have trained my world

To stay behind

Leaving my eyes dry

My world escapes me sometimes

Showing vulnerability and fear

 

There is a world behind my eyes

A caged and scared world

I live in my world

My world is me.
