Consummation

Consummation

A Poem by ChloMatkin

Our bodies entwined - two trees;

One fate.

We thrive off one another’s energy -

The ivy snakes between us -

You remain oblivious.

As it grips you tightly, like I once did -

Rendering you hostage.

I observe; helpless.

I watch you slowly shrink and fade.

We are no longer one, but just a leaf of you remains.

You are consumed by the ivy,

Whilst I, consumed by you,

Drift slowly, slowly towards impending doom.

Jeesh, you two needed a weedwhacker. Youve created quite an image.
