MY MUM - MY GUIDING LIGHT

MY MUM - MY GUIDING LIGHT

A Poem by Rimmee

The moment I first opened my eye
Just an hour before the dawn
The first name I uttered in my cry
Was none other than my mum

One day when I cried with fear
She took me in her arms
Softly with care, my mum
Lulled me with her melodious hum

The day I first spread my wings
And failed even in my third try
“Get up “, said my mum
Teaching me never to say die

The day I soared high in open sky
Leaving the warmth of my cocoon
Like an invisible tree, stood my mum
Shading me from every monsoon

The moment I flew out of my nest
With an arrival of time uncertain
An anxious heart shook my mum
Longing for my earliest return

A time when I was struck with fever
She was awake the whole night
Sitting by my bedside, my mum
Prayed for me to be alright

A time in life when everything messed
With situations I could hardly cope
You were there for me , my mum
Blessing me with a ray of hope

A time was when I lost my sight
And the day suddenly ended in night
You were there for me , my mum
Showing me way like a guiding light

A day when I will turn a sixty
And you shall be in your eighties
I will still be, my mum
Your same old little girlie

The day when I will close my eyes
Just an hour after the twilight
A last wish that I will sigh
“May you stay, my mum, forever by my side!”

Thank you so much Tracey. Mother's love is so pure, something beyond time and space. :)
