In the rainA Poem by Chin-hooi Nganother one about the rainRain came early it walks up to the river walks into the quiet of the park trestle bridge meanders a little shiny planks follow my steps pavilion in the distance meditates in dim silence innocent swallow shuttles briskly between the sky and the water purple bouquet of the moonlight ripples on the tear-stained surface a slender stone path nestled among the trees bamboos one or two awake from their tender sleep raindrops urge me to return home with a higher tone along the way pebbles swig loneliness at soles of my feet.
