Alienable Rights

Alienable Rights

A Poem by Chilson, Joshua
"

Our world is so corrupt by the value of a tree that we ourselves have fallen from the ability to speak and act according to our rights. Were not the land of the free.

"

 Money,

fair and poor,

are declined mercilessly,

like a benign cancer.

 The greedy,

in white suits,

with eyes on mankind,

reach into your wallet.

 These thin sheets,

pressed, inked,

rise above the human soul,

leading man astray.

 Lenders,

borrowers,

copay,

credit.

 All the same,

but were sinking,

building box cities,

afraid to protest.

 As the rich,

socially prostitute,

the gullible new minds,

to live indebted.

 This sadism,

is monetary bondage,

and the pursuit of happiness,

denied like a loan.

BRAVO! So true. And our inalienable rights have been violated, and keep being violated! I wrote something about this too. I should put it up one day.

I write poetry from life experience, though most won't seem that way as I never get into specifics to the events that bring about my work. I'm a silent individual for the most part which doesn't ma.. more..
