The Descent

The Descent

A Poem by Chilson, Joshua
"

Emotional descent is a toxic feeling gone through mentaly, but can physically effect our everyday lives. How we interact with people, love our partner, or even wish to continue moving forward.

"

 The dark void

of which I was birthed

seems to be calling me

from the festering darkness within.

Deep rooted emotion

with it's gates and spiral ladders

beckon

longing for my descent.

Though the apperation smiles

it's elongated face

seems to reminisce

how harboring everything feels.

It's in the rusty smile

behind inlaid eyes

where a shadow paints

the still figure which is him.

Yet the sun shines

casting shadows

on a man that scryies

for a reason to live again.

About
I write poetry from life experience, though most won't seem that way as I never get into specifics to the events that bring about my work. I'm a silent individual for the most part which doesn't ma.. more..
