Laughing Skull

Laughing Skull

A Poem by Chilson, Joshua

  Smoke gray eyes recede,
as the laughing skull catches fire,
thy inner creature awaits,
struggling your body rocks,
hands crossed bound tightly,
everything inside painted white,
the caged demon feasting,
sings no more.

 Dancing in lamplight,
a skeleton holds onto faith,
dark is the room,
with no doors,
he can't escape.

 No flesh for tears,
all held broke the spirit,
lies grafted to skin truth in bone,
smiling in misery,
with a heart that bears no fruit,
envious a life lived in sin,
fractured in body and mind,
I leave you to atone.

About
I write poetry from life experience, though most won't seem that way as I never get into specifics to the events that bring about my work. I'm a silent individual for the most part which doesn't ma.. more..
