Last WordsA Poem by Chilson, Joshua
"To whom it may concern,"
this was your letter,
such sadness in delicate writing,
a voice none would hear.
"Will anyone mourn me?"
that your gone,
from an inconsiderate world,
away from the pain of another man.
"I wonder who will read this?"
the pages damp with tears,
before that day I remember,
your smile and laughter bright as the sun.
"Read to me again."
though these words fall on deaf ears,
each year I will tell you my story,
of a life not so perfect.
