My ShadowA Poem by Chilson, JoshuaWe like to hide our failures in dark places, these places give birth to new shadows leaving light to expose the truth of who we are.
My shadow sat along side me,
always eager to get inside, to know, feel, imagine. Sometimes I wonder if I should, lend my heart to the darkness, so it feels pain, sadness, and weight I carry. Though I hesitate, would it run away and hide with the moon, seeking refuge beyond the star blazing skies I reach to. So I pull away, resting hopes and dreams at it's feet, keeping each fallen star locked away for no one to find.
